Not at all. Just make sure to seal it properly. I actually prefer plywood over the other stuff like melamine which doesn’t take paint. Plywood is a lot easier to work with and not too mention cheaper. Just dont go too cheap and use the super warped stuff or it’ll really suck trying to build with...
Won’t lie a ton of personality from what i noticed so far. I rarely have lizards who come in and eat on the first day ,little lady ate within that first hr and started basking no worries haha
Not the greatest pics but just got this little red in this morning, already ate some gt and some crickets for me. Ill try some dubia tonight when i get home.
Hey all, recently decided to get back into herps again. Currently working on building up his enclosure atm , tegu to come in another 2-3 weeks. Ill be around here a lot more brushing up on my tegu care. Thinking about even starting a build thread on the enclosure if anyones interested?

The shed off, I recently had a spider ball shipped to
Me while she was in shed, needless to say that night she had bad

Just got off the phone with them, they said there is a constant running fan that you will not notice. So it's two fans. Also they send out the incubators with a little piece of paper inside warning about the possibilty of electrical failures due to condensation build up in the light inside the...
Yea, I've noticed that tegus do not stress out as fast as other reptiles. My little guy was a eating machine from day one right out of the box. I started mines off in a 55g as well and from day 1 he was Basking without a Care in the world.
Just got in, mines is in good shape and its pretty accurate, 2f-3f difference from top to bottom (bottoms cooler). Sometime next week I plan to really test it out with the vermiculite and egg containers all in place to see how good it is. I really like the look of this thing!
