Ok, I need help. First off I just want to say I don't feed our tegu crickets (not in her cage, not ever). We have crickets in our house because we have geckos. Well sometimes they escape. About a month ago I heard one in the tegu enclosure. I didn't think much about this, I figured one wandered...
Our tegu will be 2 in August. She is suddenly quite aggressive and I'm not sure why. She appears to track our hands when they are lowered down, and has ran at our feet. My son has started feeding her when she is nippy thinking she must be hungry. What do you guys think? Could it just be her age?
My tegu keeps leaving her basking area (with light bulb) to lay in the sun that comes through the window. I read that the window blocks UVB. I'm not sure what to do about this.
Ok, follow up question. If my tegu is a female, will she lay unfertilized eggs? (I looked for this answer already, but found some people saying yes, and some people saying no ♀️)
Is there any way I can find out the gender of my tegu? The vet "thinks" it's probably a girl. We bought it December 2018 from a pet store, the store bought it in August from a reptile show. The vet thinks our tegu is approximately 20 months. I measured him/ her today and it was 3 feet 2 inches.
I bought is at the pharmacy (1 litre for $13) you have to dilute it so it's the color of tea. I just added it to his bath water and used a washcloth to drip the water all over him.
