Believe it or not, these are both rescues. The female was found basking in a backyard two summers ago and the male wasn't a cuddle pet. They have bred, fingers crossed.
Don't discount Timors. With the correct setup (basking area, soaking pool and plenty of cover) they can become "tame". They do need a good hide or two which helps with their comfort level.
