He looks healthy to me, but i'm no Vet.
I think he needs to acclimate in his new Home, so give him Time and don't change to much in his Enclosure.
Try to give him parboiled Eggs.
My Boy hide in his hole for the first Week. The second Week he was roaming around in his enclosure for a few minutes a day. In the third Week he finally ate Egg, a bit heated and a small hole in the Shell. Take your Time and let him settle, the rest will come :)
Tegus don't drop their Tail, so don't worry about that.
Maybe you should try more ways to lift him up, mine likes it, when he lies on my complete Forearm.. but if i hold him on my Hands he goes crazy.
About the Pooping, it could be, because he crampes up when you lift him.
One Advice from me, don't make the Platform to high over the Ground.
My Boy has the habbit to jump down from the Platform..
if its to high or maybe to hard ground it could really hurt.
Hey :)
40-50°C seems a bit high for me.. my Boy does'nt like it that hot.. max 36°.
As to the handling, he too does'nt wanted to be touched as he was in this age, he was very aggressive and wanted to bite everything.
The old T-shirt i put in his Space was shredded ;)
Try to comfort him, sit and...
Good to hear it fixed itself :)
If it happens again, place her in warm ( max 30° Celsius) Water and gently massage the prolapse until it retreat itself.
It could be the handfeeding, but I think it could be your smell, do you use body lotion, cream or something like this? my boy reacts a lot when I use lotion.
