Substrate depth

Putting together final blueprint for Amaru's adult-size enclosure. Trying to decide how high to make the lip of the enclosure. If I use cypress mulch as the substrate, how deep would you make it and therefore how high a lip would you recommend for a front opening enclosure?

I say a minimum depth of 6-8" preferably 8". I did an 18" lip which was overkill 12" would be fine, just to make sure there's no crap getting on the floor.
