Ameiva question

i'm thinking about getting an ameiva, the only concern i have is that sometime i need to go back to my country for a few weeks, i already have someone that can help me take care of my animals when i leave but she's afraid of insect, so my question is can it survive few weeks only eating ground turkey and fruit? If they can't i'll get a blue tongue instead.
